Day Off in Skipton and a drive on the Moors

It was still raining hard this morning though to clear in the afternoon. Matt bought Dianne over to join us on the boat and we decided to go for a short drive on the moors, suppose to be only half an hour away. Left at 11.30 and didn't get back to 2.30. Well worth the drive though - a nice change from canals. Love the Yorkshire Moors.

A short drive Matt said to Ribblehead Viaduct and then only a 15 mile drive back to Kettlewell and back to Skipton. Yeah right. Rain cleared though and drive was spectacular.

Note it is not only in NZ that you find sheep on the road, we had to stop completely as mum was feeding the youngester in the middle of the road.

Kilnsey Crag, no one climbing today.

Meanwhile back in Skipton it was market day again and this time we found the Cheese stall that sold the Oatcakes, yes they are yummy Jan.

TOTAL MILES today - buggered if I know but it was definitely more than 15. No locks and no swing bridges. Off to the pub shortly and we will start again on the canal tomorrow. Thanks Matt it was a great way to spend the day.
