Bogg Lock to Autherley Junction (Staffordshire & Worcester Canal)

15 June

Chore morning and a quiet cruise with only two locks. Pete looking at the finished product of cleaning the boat. One of the joys is you can give her a proper clean within half an hour. Laundry will be done after we have been through locks.
Pete still wearing boots inside - really !!!

It was a beautiful morning again and we only had two locks to do, the last taking us into Gailey were we got diesel and pumpout from a Viking yard. This was done quickly and we were able to buy  the Nicholson Book 2 - the only one missing from Musn Grumble library and of cause the one we need shortly.

No more locks today just countryside and motorways and a offer of a free JCB digger from a guy. Bruce Low would have swam ashore.

Greenpeace on the canal

Town of Coven, small fibrelite houses and Pete reckons witches
Someone needs to show this to Bruce Low
Lunch was at the Fox and Anchor - 5/10 in Cross Green. The price of beer has gone up a pound, must be getting near a city. Cruised on through Marsh Lane cutting and past the Junction with the Shropshire Union at Autherley Junction and moored on rings for night.
Lunch spot, you can more up beside it.
Marsh Lane - very narrow cutting with a few passing bays

Clara kiwi still on board
A sign post like this is what was missing at the start of Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal and why we missed the turn off the other day.

Head for Birmingham tomorrow and Wolverhampton 21

TOTAL - 8 miles, 2 locks, 3 small aqueducts
