19 July - Weedon
Time is flying we are nearly 3 months on boat. We have now done 584 miles, 443 locks, 78 moveable bridges, 21 tunnels, 144 small aqueducts and 10 major aqueducts. Definitely pleased we are keeping blog, would never have remembered them all.
Our route so far, we are heading to London then back up the Oxford
Up at 7.30am this morning and cooked Sunday breakfast. Weather clearing and we will be moving ontowards Weedon. On the move at 9am and down 5 locks - some gates need attention here. Vicki did most of driving into Locks today.
Once down on we went towards Weedon, we past Jim's yard and went onto waterpoint to fill up, then used winding hole and returned to moor up just short of Oakcraft Narrowboats.
How is this for widebeams, Cream one looks a lot bigger than the green one.
Reckon it has to be hard getting through some of
those bridges.
Not stopping here, motorcross in full swing, M1 just on otherside and the train track for London -Virgin run up and down on this, we were on it the other week.
Vicki walked into the village and got a chicken for dinner while I cleaned up at the rear and refilled stern greaser. Ran boat until 3.30 for battery top up. Sunday roast dinner 10/10.
View for night
