Wheelock Village to Rode Heath

8 June

Beautiful morning, I was up early as I couldn't sleep but managed to get some photos of sunrise but it was bitterly cold so went back to bed at 4am.

Set off about 9ish just outside Wheelock with Jeff & Caroline who are aboard NB Liverbird. Stopped & filled up with water in the town. Towns name has evolved.

Beautiful morning and we started off in t-shirts and the locks started quickly, 13 in all. The locks are in pairs built to reduce waiting time so 2 boats can be lifted at a time or 1 up and 1 down. Some were broken so ended up with some single locks.

Liverbird left - Musn Grumble right

Moored up at Rode Heath opposite the Broughton Arms at 4.30pm. Showers and off to the pub for dinner. Good dinner 7/10 grill night 2 for one price. Meet up with Margaret and Paul on a Hire Boat and spent a cherry time with them, they are keen to buy one.
