Workman Gardens to Offenham Lock

Up late at 9.10 with a big sleep in. Vicki did the blog while I slept. I woke to the sand of weedwackers on the other side of the river, soon to be replaced by several local schools having twin hulled canoe races, starting beside Musn Grumble and finishing about 100m down stream.

After a late breakfast and a tidy up we went for a walk into to town. Quite busy with several streets closed to cars but unfortunately lots of empty shops. Many of the people here are Polish and you hear the language spoken on the street all the time. They are here because of plenty of work in Market gardens and pack houses in the surrounding areas. Because of the EU they have right of entry and can stay permanently.
We explored the village

Thought we might do a museum - oh dear not open on a Wednesday. HAHA

 Town Hall

After lunch we decided to move on for 2 hours to heat water if nothing else, shall have to watch power consumption until tomorrow.
On our journey this afternoon we passed 3 Indian canoes with teens what looked like camping gear. 10 minutes later and several hundred metres later 2 older folk in a canoe each looking very amature with a map asked if we had seen the other boats. HAHA those kids will be in Tewkesbury before the minders get to the next lock.
Moored tonight on 24 hour moorings at Offenham and shall light the barbie for dinner - that's if I can wake Pete from his Nana nap.

Pete has just woken to put bbq on, me I have not proofed this blog but have enjoyed listening to music and drunk half a bottle of Chardonnay :-) Shall give you BBQ rating tomorrow.

TOTAL - 4 miles, 2 locks
