14 September - is summer over
Up and about breakfast and blog and engine on to top up power, we moved off at about 10 am and cruised past old mills, now converted to office space, farms, villages and marinas.
We set off with woolly hats and gloves today as the wind was bitter - in NZ it would have been a southerly definitely a northerly here, rain stayed away just.
I do love these snake bridges these are bridges where the tow path changes sides but the horse did not have to be disconected from the boat
Clarence Mill https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarence_Mill
This so looks like we are going up hill, in the distance is the Pennines
We stopped for a late lunch at bridge 11 at the Bulls Head, and as we moored up we met some fellow boaters who had the same idea and we spent the rest of the afternoon in the pub with the fire going swapping boating yarns.
Our mooring spot just through bridge 11
Pork pies for lunch as the Bulls Head doesn't do hot food Mondays to Wednesday but the best I have had since I've been here, I said to Vicki I wasn't having another one because I didn't like the pastry but now I'm glad I gave them 1 last try. A good chat with locals and boaters in front of a roaring fire. http://whatpub.com/pubs/HIP/386/bulls-head-high-lane
Back on the boat at 4.30 and its getting colder so we will stay put for the night
