Hopwas to Fradley Junction

2 September - Meeting visitors in Fradley

Up and about early breakfast and blog we are meeting Jeff and Caroline today.
A non lock cruise to Fradley junction of 8 miles through country side and woodland.
 Leaving Hopwas

Birmingham & Fazeley Canal joins Coventry Canal  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham_and_Fazeley_Canal
I had jumped off the boat to take these photo's - Pete thought he could escape

We arrived at visitors moorings at 12.30 and moored up and Vicki took the rubbish to the bins and returned with Jeff and Caroline.
Roast chicken for lunch on boat and catch up conversation on what we had all been up to since seeing them last in Birmingham. After lunch the walk got us as far as the Swan Inn where drinks were had and conversation with other boaters and watching the lock movement outside.

Pete, Jeff & Caroline heading for the pub
The Swan Inn also known as the Mucky Duck

This was parked outside British Waterways office. Office was closed.

We walked them back to their car about 5pm and said bye - great catching up with you both, thanks for coming and visiting. We headed back to the boat and we shall join the Trent & Mersey again tomorrow, we shall cross our paths again in awhile and then head up the Macclesfield. Rain is threatening.

TOTAL - 8 miles, 1 small aqueduct and unable to contact CRT re Rochdale so bugger it shall head that way anyway. This junction was our decision point, we shall head left.
