Down the M1 to Coalville to say Bye

10 October - Day trip south

Up and about on a foggy morning, breakfast and blogs done and into the car and off down to Coalville to see Bro George for the afternoon. Most of the trip on the M1 with roadworks slowing up the drive but good diggers to spot on the sides.
We stopped for lunch and a quick look at another Rail Museum at Quorn and Woodhouse station on what was once part of the Great Central Railway. Very slow service in the cafe meant we had limited time to look around but got to see a steam train stop and start at the station which is one of 4 on this line, each one decorated in a different time period, Quorn is in  WW2 costume.

We moved on to Mt Saint Bernard's Abbey and spent the rest of the afternoon with Bro George, who knows when we will get another chance to spend time with him again but he is truly a special person and well worth the journey to say goodbye.

I have had the privilege of visiting Bro George for 40 years, with my parents, aunt, daughter and husband and we are all truly blessed to know him. I am always amazed at how at peace he is with himself and what a wonderful peaceful place Mt St Bernards is. Bye for now Uncle George unsure when we will get back to UK. Love you, God Bless

Mt St Bernards in Autumn is just as beautiful, pays to visit with changing seasons

We left there at about 4.30 and cruised back up the M1 to Oulton, we stopped just before the marina and had an Indian at ZOYA a restaurant recommended by Marie the marina lady, we were not let down, a superb meal, starters, mains and a bottle of Kiwi Sav Blanc plus great service from all the staff made for a 10/10 dining experience, well done boys and thank you. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186411-d7080945-Reviews-Zoya_Restauarant-Leeds_West_Yorkshire_England.html
