Went Aqueduct to Barnby Dun

15 October - pleasant day cruising but it is getting colder

Up slowly and breakfast and blog and moved off down (or was it up) The New Junction Canal. Finished in 1905 the last canal built in the system. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Junction_Canal
This stretch is 5 and half miles and has a lot of movable bridges all done by BW key thankfully.

And we are off over the Went Aqueduct

A collection of swing and lift bridges

Lock with a swing bridge across it, we just ducked under it before lock keeper filled lock
Guillotine flood locks over the Don Aqueduct

Interesting sights along the way
We stopped before the Barnby Dun lift bridge and strolled to the pub for lunch. On the way we found a barbershop and both had hair cuts for under 20 - not a bad cut.
The first Pub the star was shut till 5. The 2nd The White Hart only does dinner but the Olive across the road although very quiet did lunch.  http://www.olivebarandgrill.co.uk/index.php
I had steak and mushrooms with black bean sauce on plain rice 8/10 and Vicki had Chicken Parmesean with salad and chips 7/10 (almost a salad).

A walk back to the boat via the Farm Shop saw us back on board at 4pm, too late to move on so that is for the day again and starting to get cold. Time for heater to go on.

TOTAL - 6 miles, 1 lock, 3 small aqueducts 2 major aqueducts and 6 moveable bridges
