Road trip to York

9 October - collect rental

Up at 8am sleepy sleepy, breakfast and sorted out our stay with the marina lady. We are on a power site with water for the week and is quite reasonable at 68 pounds, certainly cheaper than a hotel.

We were picked up at 10 by Enterprise Rentals and they took us to their depot and sorted out a near new Vauxhall

Off we went to York for the day, we parked in the pay and display car park and walked into the center of the city and hopped on the hop on hop off bus tour (this is first tour he could get a true senior discount pass). These buses are a great way to get a good look around with the commentary telling you about the history on the way, York is a old city dating back 1900 years to when the Romans set up camp there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/York

St Williams College http://york-wiki.co.uk/st-williiams-college-york.html

We got off the bus at the National Railway Museum and spent some time looking at the collection of locomotives and rolling stock, We could not see even 1/2 of the displays a job for another day. http://www.nrm.org.uk/

Back on the boat by 6pm after a shop at Lidl on the way.

TOTAL - 1 trip to York by car approx 50m, tour bus and museum visit
