2 August - Into London, Uxbridge
A slow Sunday start, bacon and eggs, blog and messaging, we moved off at 10am in mild weather with very little boat traffic. We had a lock first up but then they were wide apart with wide and clean ponds.
The same person who told us about Monkey told us about this guy. Thought we had missed him but he was waiting patiently as we came out first lock.
This is the 2nd place we have seen water this clean, the other one was on the Birmingham old line on our way to the Black Country Museum.
Interesting boats along the way
This could be a kiwi house, doors along the whole front of house wide open, punga's, cabbage trees and flax's
There are many more boats moored along the sides so a mooring took a while to find ,but we found one just below Cowley lock, a 7 day mooring just past the Malt Shovel Inn, so we went off for a late lunch a shared Butchers Platter 6/10, a couple of coldies and back on board for a Sunday avo relax. http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/content/vintage-inn/en/restaurants/london/themaltshoveliveruxbridge
