20 August - peaceful cruising
On the move at 9am and an uneventful morning with locks in our favour and enough boats coming the other way to keep it like that.
Our view for the night outside Heyford Common
Sommerton Lock - first lock of day and 12 foot deep - climbed over 50 feet through locks today
A lunch stop at Nell Ridge farm shop for some supplies and Bacon and egg rolls for lunch, all from the farm, except the buns.
Only lock that we had to do all day, empty and then fill
Moved on through countryside when suddenly we are in Banbury, with people, litter, and noise. The 1st mooring spot was Industrial and smelly, and the pins would not hold in the bank so we moved 1 more lock to the centre of town, outside Castle Quays a large mall, this is handy because a visit to a Supermarket is needed, that's 1st on the list in the morning.
Some interesting characters in Banbury
