Lady Capel's lock to Copper Mill lock Harefield

1 August - On outskirt of London

A start at 8.30 [going back to work is gonna be tough] and a country cruise locks down and some set in our favour some not, we spent the day solo, we must be the only boat going to London. Shared lock driving.
First lock needs setting but as we moored around the corner
by the time Pete gets there it is ready

 My turn to drive next

We stopped at Croxley Green on the Tescos Wharf , right outside and did a shop and got some lunch, you can push your trolley right to the boat (which was handy as shop was really booze supply). Lunch on board and off again past lots of moored boats of all shapes and sizes and states of repair, some that will move and some that will never move again, all of these are still moored boats so the rule is [pass at  tick over] so progress can be slow.
 Now these are definitely houseboats

Some nice bridges along the way
Former Watermill that looks like it has now been converted into apartments.
Also along the way boaters told us to look out for the monkey hanging from an abandoned chalk quarry. This was also mentioned in the Pearson Canal Companion which was published in 2006, he is holding up well considering it has hung there for 10 years.

We moored at 3.30 just downstream of Copper Mill lock, roast pork for dinner on the boat and not much traffic or train noise. 10 /10.
View for night just past Copper Mill lock which derives it names from a short lived existence of coppers works early 19th century. New housing and industry now.

TOTAL - 11 locks, 7 miles, 1 booze shop
