Cowley lock to Paddington Arm

3 August - London

Up and about and off by 8.30 after removing what I thought was a shopping trolley from the canal floor under the boat, that's how clear the water is there. I saw it as we moored the day before, it turned out to be a folding camp chair, will dispose of it properly at the CRT bins.

  Interesting boats along the way

Below is the first boats we see moving on canal and Australia is in tow

We stopped at Bulls Bridge for water and a small visit to Tescos and set off down the Paddington Arm eating lunch on the move. A slow trip due to the masses of moored boats along the way. We followed the Arm to its end and found a 7 day mooring right outside the entrance to the Paddington tube, handy for train trips. Lots of people about but it was 4.30 and the commute was on.
Little traffic on aqueduct, pretty busy below

Definitely in London know, sights are changing

 The old and the new

We thought about going walkabout but instead stayed put, a few drinks on the 1/4 deck and a 10/10 on board dinner. We had just finished when a woman walked towards the boat, I said to myself I know her, it was Jan from NB QISMA come visiting, she was in town with a list of people to call on and we were on that as well. A lovely way to end the day, thanks Jan for a complete surprise to see a familiar face out of all those going bye.
As promised have not posted a picture of Jan but she did take a good one of us

Where we are moored on the end of a line there is sort of a water feature, 4 air lines on the canal floor sending bubbles up in lines, this is under a footbridge, very pretty, but makes the boat sound like a Spa pool, we may move later if a better spot frees up.

TOTAL - 17 miles, 4 small aqueducts, waterfill
